Hospice in the Weald musical event.
Not even the rain could dampen our spirits when we listened to Daniel Grimwood present a unique recital that included a piano representation of an Indian Sitar, together with Dvorak, Henselt and Liszt. He made a memorial tribute to Hilary Couch, who never missed our events, by playing one of my compositions. The `Nocturne` has never sounded more beautiful. We ended up having tea in the garage, but no one seemed to mind. My grateful thanks go to Maureen Sadler and Hamish and Cynthia Brown who dealt with the catering under difficult circumstances. The end result was a great success, raising £573 for Hospice in the Weald, after expenses. In addition, everyone had a lovely afternoon of music.
The next event is Tuesday September 17th.@ 3pm.
Tickets in advance only from Gillian Davis 01580-850384.
